In July 2013 Matt Mullenweg, the creator of WordPress told the audience the WordCamp conference in San Francisco that “up to 18.9% of the web [is] running WordPress”.

It’s impressive, and it demonstrates how versatile WordPress is. It was born as a simple blogging platform, but is now a framework of code that can be used to create online stores, magazines, portfolios, social networks. Really anything!
In my opinion, the beauty of WordPress is that clients like it because the admin area is so usable, powerful and intuitive. Developers like it because the framework is so easy to work with, powerful to extend, well documented and stable. In short, code is poerty.
